Aside from cooling water down as fast as possible, perhaps you are thinking of supercooling of water? If you cool really clean water in a really smooth and clean container with a minimum of vibration or disturbance, the water will cool down below freezing temperature without changing phase. All you need to do is shake it, or scratch the container side, or add the tiniest seed crystal of ice and it will freeze *almost* instantly.

The easiest way of doing this using household materials is to find a glass bottle of mineral water and put it in your freezer for a couple hours. You'll have to experiment with the time, because it will eventually freeze, which might happen rather suddenly. Commercial glass bottles are typically freshly blown, which means the inside surface is clean on a molecular level. If you don't like the mineral water available, you might try adding distilled water to a new glass bottle that has been rinsed out very carefully with no scraping or solids added. Once you supercool the water, if you carefully warm the opening on the top (it will be colder than the water and will often cause it to freeze when you pour it out), you may be able to carefully pour the water into a glass and have it instantly freeze as it pours out.

What gas or liquid pumped into water would cause it to freeze instantly?

Liquid nitrogen can cause water to freeze instantly when pumped into it. Liquid nitrogen has a very low temperature of -320°F (-196°C), causing the water to freeze rapidly upon contact.

Can water freeze instantly under certain conditions?

Yes, water can freeze instantly under certain conditions, such as when it is supercooled below its freezing point without any disturbance or nucleation sites to initiate the freezing process.

What conditions cause water to instantly freeze?

Water can instantly freeze under conditions of extreme cold temperatures, typically below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius). Other factors that can cause water to freeze quickly include rapid cooling or agitation, such as when water is poured onto a supercooled surface or exposed to a sudden drop in pressure.

How do you freeze water instantly without using Sodium Acetate and please don't give me something that doesn't work like the salt and straw that's bull crap?

One method to freeze water instantly is by using supercooled water. This involves chilling distilled water and then carefully pouring it over a piece of ice, which can cause the water to freeze instantly in some cases. However, this process can be dangerous as supercooled water can suddenly solidify and potentially cause injury.
