Milorganite is a very low nitrogen and phosphorus content fertilizer (5-2-0). I would recommend having the fertilizer wide open (maximum setting) to get any kind of noticeable results. Any other settings would result in very little application of nutrients and is kind of pointless. Milorganite is very safe and since it has such low nitrogen content (5%) it won't burn your lawn. Hope this helps..

This is a tricky question since there are different kind of scott spreaders and the lesco products doesn't list the settings for all of the scott's spreaders. I use the standard Scott spreader. What I figured out is that the spreader number represents the amount of pounds of product per 1000 sq ft. Example: if you want to apply 4lbs/1000 sq ft of product then use setting 4. If you want to apply 8lbs/1000 sq ft then use setting 8. Always remember not to go over the maximum amt of product per year. This is important when applying lesco pre-emergent and post-emergent since it can affect the PH of the soil. I also found this chart. The standard Scott spreader setting goes from 1 to 18.GENERIC SETTINGS - Rotary / Broadcast SpreadersApplication Rate3 lbs/1,000 sq. ft4 lbs/1,000 sq. ft5 lbs/1,000 sq. ftSpreader Range1 -- 102½3½41 -- 183451 -- 241416181 -- 40253033

There is a conversion matrix on Earthway's site to get the conversion from a Scott's spreader to an Earthway spreader. It is easiest to add 10. For example, Scott's spreader set at 4 should be set at 14 for an Earthway spreader set.
You would want to use a spreader setting of 3.5. Go over the entire lawn 1 time.
For a Scott's 3000 spreader, the recommended setting for lawn seed typically ranges from 3 to 5, depending on the specific type of seed and the desired application rate. It's always best to consult the seed packaging for precise recommendations and to perform a test run on a small area first to ensure even distribution. Adjust the setting as needed based on your results and the spreader's calibration.

For the Scott's Speedy Green 2000 spreader, the recommended setting for applying Ortho Bug B Gone is typically around 3 to 4. However, it's always best to check the product label for specific instructions, as application rates may vary based on the formulation. Additionally, calibrating your spreader based on your lawn size and the product's coverage guidelines can ensure effective application.
