In a 230 volt system such as in the UK and Europe, the average shower takes 35 to 40 amps. The protection should match the highest load anticipated.

I have this same question on my Plumbing course and i believe i can help you.

I have put KW rating as i believe its connected to a previous question,

what is the fuse rating of a 9KW shower.

well 9000W divided by 230V = 39 amps, so a 40 or 45 amp fuse would be considered.

and then going back to this question, why is overload protection required to be between 30 and 40, because of its KW rating.

Would that help you?

Assuming that the listed exception do not apply the NEC states that the minimum number of overload units required for a three-phase alternating current motor shall be?

Each leg of a three phase motor must have overload protection. There is no minimum. Older magnetic contactors used to only protect two legs but occasions arose out of this configuration that would cause the motor to single phase on an overload condition. The code was changed to stop this condition from happening so now all three legs must be protected.

What is the minimum acceleration for a particle in simple harmonic motion obeying x equals acos2t?

Acceleration is a vector, so it has both magnitude and direction.A particle in the simple harmonic motion, x = a cos(2t), has an acceleration that varies between positive and negative extremes (+4a and -4a) at the end points of its motion and has zero acceleration as it passes through its center of motion. Here is the mathematics.Position ' x ' = a cos(2t)Velocity ' v ' = dx/dt = -2a sin(2t)Acceleration = dv/dt = -4a cos(2t)The minimum instantaneous magnitude of acceleration is zero, and its most negative instantaneous value is [ -4a ].

How do you wire a 20 amp 2hp motor with 220 single phase with a safety switch?

A safety switch does not provide overload or over current protection. The safety switch is positioned just before the motor and just after the motor protection equipment. To wire a safety switch, the line in from the motor protection goes to the top of the switch and the motor load connects to the bottom of the safety switch. The switch must have at minimum of a 240 volt rating and have an amperage rating of not less than 30 amps. Wire sizing for the connection will be #10 conductor which has a rating of 30 amps.
