Single gene diseases only effect one typeof gene where im a complex genetic disease many genes are effected. An example of a single gene diseas is sickle cell anemia. Cancer would be an eexample of a complex gene disease.
Single gene traits result from variations of a single gene. Complex traits result from variations of more than one gene.
The difference between two things is what traits or characteristics set them apart; why they are different. For example:Water and IceThe difference between water and ice is that water is a liquid and water is not. Another thing is that ice is very cold and water can be warm.
In natural selection, the animals take time and evolve slowly. In selective breeding, humans can transfer genes from one organism into another organism.
Because lamarck thought that traits organisms aquired during their lifetime would be passed on to offspring. He believed that traits were determined by use or disuse. However, aquired traits cannot be passed on to offspring, only traits determined by DNA can.
Variation and competition are the basis of natural selection. When a population of organisms has variety (big/small, fast/slower, etc), and there is competition, then some of those traits will assist in winning the competition, and some will not, which will tend to mean the difference between an organism surviving versus not surviving, which in a large population will mean passing the genes for those advantageous traits on, which then means that those traits have been 'selected' for by the natural act of competition, thus 'natural selection'.
Single gene traits are either one type or another, for example everyone is either (ABO System) group A,B AB or O with no intermediates - this shows discontinuous variation. In polgyenic traits, continuous variation is shown and there is a range with no discrete categories - height
DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) is the complex compound that transmits genetic traits.
culture traits are unit of learned behavior changing from the language spoken to the tools used or to the game to play.
Looks are personal traits. You can't get personal traits from a location (where). You get them from your parents (who).
A round character has many traits, some of which may even be contradictory--a very complex individual
Traits are abilities that you can receive out of practice, or from an ancestor. Inherited traits are talents that you have naturally inherited by an ancestor.
Instrumental aggression correlats to masculine traits, while realtional correlates to feminine traits
Derived traits are traits that appeared in the most recent common ancestor of the group and was passed on to it's decedents. Ancestral traits are inherited directly from the ancestor
The difference between two things is what traits or characteristics set them apart; why they are different. For example:Water and IceThe difference between water and ice is that water is a liquid and water is not. Another thing is that ice is very cold and water can be warm.
Trait is something you have by nature, skill is something that you acquire over time and practice.
Thr Romans gave their Jupiter all the traits of Zeus.
Dominant traits are the traits that mask the recessive traits. The dominant traits are stronger than recessive!
The difference between having a crush on someone and liking someone:If you have a crush on someone, it means that you find their physical appearance attractive. If you like someone, it means that you like their personality traits; not to do with appearance.
