What is the function advantages disadvantages of telex?

Telephone systems are now evolving. We have the VoIP system where in calls are routed over the internet. The benefits of this sytem are far greater compared to the traditional phone. Its disadvantages are its reliability to the the internet connection and to the main power source. If these systems went down your VoIP pbx system will also go down.

telex has almost disappeared, superseded by the fax machine and email.
The advantage over telegraph is that ordinary people could read the output (Latin alphabet cf. Morse Code), and over the telephone that there was a written record and the recipient did not need to be present to receive a message.

The disadvantages are, I think, that it is expensive and requires special phone connections.

Some advantages would be you would be up to date with new software and technology. Some disadvantages would be you could fall behind in other categories besides technology.
