Depending on how accurate you want to be you can use a variety of methods. Common methods include the following (with increasing level of accuracy)
1) graduated cylinder
2) volumetric pipette.
3) Calibrated micro-pipette (may require more than one transfer)
A tape measure would be the tool, measuring in centimetres or inches.
a small scale.....You would use a triple beam balance or a pan balance.a balance.
You would use a scale. You are NOT smarter than a 5th grader!

spring scale is like we measure he measurethe mass tool used to measure force
For the volume you can use a graduated container.
A stopwatch or a timer would be suitable to measure the time it takes to bring water to a boil.
I woould use a small measuring spoon, as in the image

You would use a thermometer to measure air temperature.
You would use a measuring cup or a graduated cylinder to measure the capacity of a container. Fill the container with water and then pour the water into the measuring cup or graduated cylinder to determine its volume.
A balance.
A cloth tape measure.
depends on what item you are measuring
well the tool would use a triple beam balance because it has more mass.
I would use the odometer on my car. If that does not help I would use a map and a ruler and measure it to scale.
The tool that a person would use to measure out a pound is called a scale. A scale can be used to weigh people as well. Pounds are a form of measure used on the Imperial system.
