Bearing in mind that the first billion people was attained approximately by the 19th century (mid 1800 AC) and that the first "Homo Sapiens" is dated back some 200.000 years ago in the southern tip of Africa, we could establish that "Homo Sapiens" is about 199.800 years old. However, recently, and in the the paleontological excavations in Atapuerca (Spain) there have been discovered some vestiges and tools of the so called "Homo Antecessor", which date back to one million years.
So that should be the approximate answer to your question if we consider the "Homo Antecessor" as our most remote ancestor.
It took all of human existence up to 1804 before the world population reached its first billion. Before then, hunting and gathering societies never managed to pass a few million, with scarce food supplies and a nomadic lifestyle limiting growth. The agricultural revolution and the domestication of animals provided a stable food source necessary for population to start growing. Better nutrition and healthcare following the Industrial Revolution accelerated this growth to what it is now.
It took approximately 200,000 years of human existence for the world population to reach 1 billion in the early 1800s.

Right now its December of 2019. This question was asked in 2011 back when we were hitting 7 billion people. The World did not end in 2012. We should use the years 2020 and 2021 to prepare for a more crowded world that is to comein 2022 and 2023 when there is 8 billion people on the world. Its possible that we wont reach 9 billion people. The world could end before then from some disaster like Plauge or asteroid collision. But to answer the question 8 billion people looks like its really going to happen some time in 2022.
A population's growth curve most closely resembles an "S" shaped curve, known as the logistic growth curve. Initially, the curve rises slowly as the population grows, followed by a period of rapid growth, before leveling off as the environment's carrying capacity is reached and growth stabilizes.
To find the population 2 years before the current population of 54,000, we need to calculate the population growth over 2 years. Population after 2 years = 54,000 * (1 + 0.05)^2 = 54,000 * 1.1025 = 59,445 Therefore, the population two years before would be 54,000.
A mega continent before Pangaea was called Rodinia. It was formed around 1.3 billion years ago and existed before breaking apart and eventually leading to the formation of Pangaea.
The supercontinent before Pangea was called Rodinia. It existed between 1.3 billion and 750 million years ago, before breaking apart and eventually leading to the formation of Pangea.
Answer As of 2014, the world population had reached 7.2 billion. In line with population projections, this figure continues to grow at rates that were unprecedented before the 20th century, although the rate of increase has almost halved since its peak, which was reached in 1963.
In line with population projections, this figure continues to grow at rates that were unprecedented before the 20th century, although the rate of increase has almost halved since its peak, which was reached in 1963. The population of the world is about 6.684 billion.
1.4 billion
As of September 2008, the world's population is estimated to be just over 6.721 billion. In line with population projections, this figure continues to grow at rates that were unprecedented before the 20th century, although the rate of growth has almost halved since its peak of 2.2% per year, which was reached in 1963. The world's population, on its current growth trajectory, is expected to reach nearly 9 billion by the year 2042. (from wikipedia).
The population of the Earth in 1963 was approximately 2.5 billion. At this time the population of the Earth was increasing quicker than it had ever done before in history (which was 2.2% per year).
Nobody created surface area. Surfaces had areas several billion years before the solar system came into existence!
The population before wide-spread use of physics (say about 1800) was approximately 1 billion people, and its now 7 billion So "enumerated" it comes out as 6 billion people.
Before the Industrial Revolution, the world human population growth rate was about .1 percent (.001) per year for the seven to eight centuries. At the beginning of the Industrial Revolution in the mid 1700s, the world's human population grew by about 57 percent to 700 million, and reached 1 billion by 1800. This was mostly do to great advancements in the field of medicine and health, as well as an improvement to the general standards of living.
majority of teeens have used illegal substance, or heavy drinking , or tobacco before they have reached the age of 18
billion is 9 zeros before 1
I think that the worlds population has drastically increased. If you look at any world population diagram on the Internet you can see that the worlds population has grown by 5 billion in two decades. Compared to the population growth before the 'modern times' this growth is abnormally big.
Prokaryotes were the only kind of life on earth approximately 2 billion years ago. They existed long before eukaryotes ever came into existence at all.
