Gondwanaland is a hypothetical ancient supercontinent that existed before the current continents drifted apart. The name is derived from Gondwana, a region in central India where rock formations from the supercontinent were first identified. It is made up of modern-day South America, Africa, Antarctica, Australia, the Arabian Peninsula, the Indian Subcontinent, and Madagascar.
Laurasia and Gondwanaland formed during the late Carboniferous period, around 300 million years ago, through the breakup of the supercontinent Pangaea. Laurasia was located in the northern hemisphere, while Gondwanaland was in the southern hemisphere.
One of the two supercontinents that Pangaea split into is Laurasia.

Gondwanaland includes continents such as South America, Africa, Antarctica, Australia, and the Indian subcontinent. Laurasia includes continents such as North America, Europe, and Asia.
Then about 200 million years ago the land began to drift apart. It broke into two pieces, and scientists have called the continent in the north Laurasia and the continent in the south Gondwanaland. Gondwanaland included what we know as Antarctica, which was joined to South America, Africa, India, and Australia. The two large continents continued to break apart into the smaller continents that exist today. Scientists call this movement 'continental drift'
The scientific or taxonomic name would be Palaephatidae.
The proper name, given to a hypothetical early continent, is Gondwanaland.
As Australia is a continent, I'm guessing you mean "what supercontinent"? The answer to this is Gondwanaland

Pangea was the supercontinent that split into two: Gondwanaland and Laurasia.
The supercontinent Gondwanaland was named by the Austrian geologist Eduard Suess in 1885. He derived the name from the Gondwana region of central India, where rocks that were part of the ancient supercontinent were found.
The ancient sea that separated Gondwanaland and Laurasia in Alfred Wegener's Continental Drift proposal was called the Tethys Sea.
