• lack of Birth Control
• lack of access to birth control / medical care (which seems contradictory since pregnant women need medical care)
• medical reasons to not use birth control pills (ex. history of blood clots)
• ignorance or lack of education
• apathy
• being pressured by a partner NOT to use birth control
• a female who does not feel she can stand up to or argue with a partner who refuses to use condoms
• a female who believes having a child will "keep" a man with her
• religious upbringing which decries birth control
• cultural background
• Children in poor countries are needed for labour, such as working in the fields and collecting water.
• Poor countries generally have no pensions, so people need their children to support them when they can no longer work, either through illness or old age.
• In poor countries, infant mortality rates are high, so people tend to have as many children as possible.

Well, there are so many people in the world, and when there is overpopulation, there are less resources available to so many people!
