The swallows that head to San Juan, particularly the famous cliff swallows, migrate from their breeding grounds in North America, primarily from regions in the western United States and Canada. Each year, they travel thousands of miles south to winter in warmer climates, including parts of Mexico and Central America. Their journey typically coincides with the changing seasons, as they seek suitable habitats for feeding and nesting. Upon arrival in San Juan, they often gather around specific locations, such as the historic San Juan Capistrano Mission.
When the Swallows Come Back to Capistrano was created in 1940.
The title is "When the swallows come back to Capistrano." It was the biggest hit song of 1939. Glenn Miller may have recorded it first, but the Ink Spots made a big hit with it. San Juan Capistrano in Orange County, California is one of the 21 Franciscan missions built in California 200 years ago. Legend has it that the swallows always come back from South America on March 19, the feast of St. Joseph.
Swallows are migratory birds that have different breeding and wintering grounds depending on the species. Some swallows breed in North America and migrate to Central and South America for the winter, while others breed in Europe and migrate to Africa. They are known for their impressive long-distance migrations.
March 19 every year.
They migrate from Argentina taking flight for 30 days and over 7,700 miles to San Juan Capistrano with an arrival date of march 19th. They fly in like clock work n' build their nest of mid. I believe their departure date is October 23rd back the other direction.
It can, actually! Not in a while, of course, but it truly is possible. We're seriously heading that way.
The main influx of swallows arrive in mid April but can arrive in late march, for example my swallows arrived on the 5th April last year which was kind of early, good dates to except them would be the 10th to the 15th.

Many birds return about then. The most famous are the swallows.
in spring the ground starts to warm up. The warm air makes the air rise and the insects r carried up in this air. Swallows feed near the ground whereas swifts feed higher in the air. The swallows come first because they r able to feed first, as they feed lower to the ground and when the air rises even higher, the swifts come. Hi.
