The state of Wyoming granted women voting rights in 1890. Several other states, such as Oregon and Colorado, had granted voting rights to women before the 19th Amendment.

It was easier on former confederate states

Everyone from adventuresome people , to entrepeneurs , scammers , and the desperate. Everyone saw the opportunity differently, but it was an important part of expansion Westward in the US, and it worked well . If not, we'd all still be living in Kansa City, so personally, I am very grateful to those hardy pioneer men and women who eventually made it possible for us to expand to West Coast. Those that lingered in the Plains states are still very important to our food supply to this day . I salute each and every one of them.

After the civil war cattle ranching become a good job because the demand for beef from cattle rose in the East.

Women demanded the right to vote.

Some want to escape deteriorating conditions or to able to relate to their families or to know their neighbors by their first names and many couples and single people left large cities in searching for a better life.
