i read the local newspaper every day to learn about important issues

a citizen researches the candidates running for office

a citizen emails for congressional representative about an important issue

coordinate fund-raisers

they can be part of a community of like- minded citizens

It makes the political process more democratic by having citizens voice their concerns.
