Normal pee or urine should not have any blood in it. It is a sign that something is wrong. Usually, if it occurs with other symptoms such as peeing a lot, peeing frequently, burning when peeing, then it might be a sign of a urinary tract infection (UTI). UTIs occur more commonly in females and males because of the shorter distance from the outside to the urethra in females as compared to females (thus making it easier for bacteria to travel and infect). When you have a UTI, you must go to a nurse practitioner (at a local health center) or a doctor immediately so they can prescribe the proper antibiotics. If a UTI progresses and worsens, bacteria from the urethra can travel up to your kidneys and that can be FATAL.
Other causes for blood in the urine can be from kidney stones, kidney disease, cancer of the kidney, bladder, or prostate, any injury to the kidney, bladder, urinary tract, or prostate itself (like an accident or something), medications, other diseases, and viral infections.
Again, blood should NOT be in the urine so anyone with blood in their urine should be checked out.
On a side note, if a woman has her period, blood can come out of the vagina while she urinates so that could be possibly confusing. Cramps are usually associated with the period. If there are other symptoms such as described before (frequent urination, burning/pain upon urination, little urine comes out, the urge to pee increases, fevers, chills, lower Back pain) then it could be a more serious problem.
Blood does not come from the toilet it comes from the body.
