You do not know until you have a sonogram or the blood tests. I myself am having a miscarriage right now and apparently, I have been having one for two weeks. The heartbeat stopped at 8 weeks and today I would be 11 weeks. I had no idea that the heart beat had stopped nor anything was wrong at that time. A week and a few days later I had blood on my underwear, just a small amount. Over the next few days, (after a call to the nurse, which I was just told to monitor things...) I went from small amount of darker reddish brown blood to more red and then to dark red clots. I never had large amounts and no cramping or any other symptom to speak of. On the 3rd day, my bleeding subsided and on the fourth I had a sonogram where I was told the babies heartbeat had stopped at 8 weeks. I read a huge amounts of posts, books, and talked to numerous people who all had a miscarriage and it seemed that I was alright. I also read so many stories that you can bleed quite a bit, and even clot and still have a healthy baby in the end. I have heard and read at least 100 different scenarios.
Today, my doctor told me that I still have to go through the actual miscarriage and it could be painful and messy but that my body should do it naturally. So, I wait.
I am actually feeling relieved in a small way, I was so concerned and worried for the 5 days. Now I know and my husband and I understand that this happens for good reason. We will just try again later. Hopefully it will not take a 1 year and 1/2 this time because I am 41, I do not have that long.
My advice is to go get the sonogram now, save yourself the worry and just find out the truth.
- Mild to severe Back pain (often worse than normal menstrual cramps)
- Weight loss (not associated with morning sickness)
- White-pink mucus
- True contractions (very painful happening every 5-20 minutes)
- Brown or bright red bleeding with or without cramps (20-30% of all pregnancies can experience some bleeding in early pregnancy, with about 50% of those resulting in normal pregnancies)
- Tissue with clot like material passing from the vagina
- Sudden decrease in signs of pregnancy
am having a miscarriage at home and dont know what to do Call medical assistance
i suggest you go to the doctor.
I don't know when this happened but always when in pain like this and the miscarriage is over go see your doctor.
You have to see a doctor after a miscarriage and he will know.
20-25% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, but having one miscarriage does not put you at any greater risk of having another. Good luck
The fetus is generally already dead when the miscarriage occurs.
Sounds just like a period. Unless you know for certain you are pregnant--then see your Dr.
After one miscarriage you are no more likely than before to miscarry again.
Only if they are very bad. Cramps after/during a miscarriage are normal
I myself had a miscarriage after having two successful pregnancies. A few monthsafter my miscarriageI became pregnant again and had another healthy baby. It is different for everyone and I don't know the statistics but I wouldn't worry yet if you have only had one miscarriage. Talking to a good obstetrician would be helpful.
If your not bleeding then your pregnant if you start bleeding in your pregnancy it's a miscarriage
The period can be late without you having a miscarriage. It happens from now and then. If you had a miscarriage the test will show positive for a little while longer since it takes time for the hormones to settle.
