Headaches are usually a symptom of an underlying problem. If you get headaches more than once or twice a week, you may want to do some research on chronic headaches. For occasional headaches, ibuprofen is sufficient in relieving pain. Follow the guidelines on the package.

I wouldn't recommend using a product like Excedrin, which contains caffeine, because the caffeine can actually cause you to have a rebound headache the following day. This is also true for continuing use of OTC pain killers, which is why I have recommended you look into causes of chronic headaches if that is the case with you.
