Sounds it'd be another name for rhythm methods and counting days. It's based on the fact that a woman's fertility varies with where she's at in her menstrual cycle.

In theory, there are "safe" days to have sex when a woman can't get pregnant even if the couple aren't using contraceptives.

In real life however, bodies aren't clockwork perfect, and counting days is notoriously unreliable. Used for a year it's a 20% chance of getting pregnant anyhow.

That's rather poor odds for something as important as having a baby or not.

How effective is the calendar method of family planning in preventing pregnancy?

The calendar method of family planning, also known as the rhythm method, is not as effective as other forms of contraception in preventing pregnancy. It relies on tracking a woman's menstrual cycle to determine fertile days, but it can be less reliable due to variations in cycle length and ovulation timing. It is estimated to be about 76 effective in preventing pregnancy when used correctly, but the effectiveness can vary depending on individual factors. It is recommended to use additional methods of contraception for more reliable pregnancy prevention.

What is the difference between artificial family planning and natural family planning?

I don't know if there is such a thing as "artificial family planning", but natural family planning is a term used commonly to describe a method of fertility management in which a woman can observe bodily symptoms in order to know when she is fertile and either use that time to avoid unprotected sex if she does not wish to conceive or use that time to have sex if she does wish to conceive. Most commonly natural family planning is the sympto thermal method, which is NOT the rhythm method. It can be as effective as the perfect use rate for hormonal contraceptives if used properly.

How effective is the calendar method of contraception in preventing pregnancy?

The calendar method of contraception, also known as fertility awareness or natural family planning, is not as effective as other forms of birth control. It relies on tracking a woman's menstrual cycle to determine when she is most fertile and avoiding intercourse during that time. However, this method is not foolproof and has a higher failure rate compared to other contraceptive methods. It is important to use additional protection if relying solely on the calendar method to prevent pregnancy.

Which of the natural family planning methods prevents STDS?

Natural family planning (NFP) methods primarily focus on tracking fertile and infertile periods to avoid pregnancy, and they do not provide protection against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Abstinence during fertile periods can reduce the risk of STDs, but other NFP methods, such as the calendar method or basal body temperature method, do not inherently prevent STD transmission. To protect against STDs, the use of barriers like condoms is recommended alongside any family planning approach.

What are the Advantages and disavantages of family planning?

Some of the advantages of using the calendar methods in family planning is that you do not have to see a doctor in order to implement this method, and you do not have to remember to take a pill or get a shot. The main disadvantage to this method is the fact that many women do not always have a regular cycle. Even those who normally do, may have times when the do not, this would make the calendar method unreliable.

What is your stand on the catholic church in the use of natural method in family planning?

It is morally acceptable if there is a serious reason for using it.

What is fertility awareness method and How to use this method in a family planning?

The calendar method is not very reliable, but the basosymptothermal method can be, and Georgetown developed the Standard Days method, which improves on the calendar/rhythm method. The fertility awareness method uses a woman's daily monitoring of temperature (before getting out of bed, and charted daily), observations of cervical location and firmness, and cervical mucus observations, along with periodic abstinence from vaginal sex during the most fertile days. If you're going to use the method, it's important to get trained by an experienced teacher. Your local Catholic Church or Planned Parenthood office can refer you to resources in your area for learning these methods.

How effective is the Creighton Method NFP for family planning?

The Creighton Method NFP is considered to be an effective natural family planning method when used correctly. It has a typical use failure rate of about 13, but with perfect use, the failure rate can be as low as 0.5. It involves tracking a woman's cervical mucus to determine fertility, and requires commitment and consistency for best results.

What planning aid can use to remind for meeting to attend?

What are the natural methods of family planning?

There are several methods of natural family planning. Most commonly used is the CALENDAR METHOD. This involves counting the days of the cycle and ticking off "unsafe" days and having intercourse only on "safe days". Another is the BILLINGS METHOD or CERVICAL MUCUS METHOD. The woman checks the type of vaginal discharge every day and uses this to see whether she is fertile or not. Some also use the BASAL BODY TEMPERATURE METHOD. A woman's basal body temperature increases by 0.1-0.3 degrees Celsius once she was ovulated. By calculating how long the egg lives, she can tell when it is already safe to have intercourse. Look up each method to find out how each one works. It would be more prudent to use more two or more techniques in tandem in order to make ovulation prediction more accurate.
