No, you shouldn't wear a tampon overnight.

Tampons need to be changed every 4-6 hours - not 8 hours, that's too long - the longer you leave tampons the higher the risks of vaginal infections and TSS, also if you can go over 4-6 hours without leaking you're using too high an absorbency which also increases TSS risk. TSS is rare but still thought to occur in as many as 1 in 700 women, incorrect tampon use will increase risks.

It's also best to alternate with pads to allow your vagina a chance to clean itself and heal after tampon use, overnight is the most convenient time to do this.

No, tampons shouldn't be worn overnight while sleeping.

Most people sleep around 7-8 hours, whereas tampons should be changed every 4-6 hours - the longer tampons are left the longer you allow bacteria to multiply and prevent vaginal cleaning, thus the higher the risks of vaginal infections and Toxic shock syndrome. If you could go longer than 4-6 hours you'd also be using too high an absorbency which increases Toxic Shock Syndrome risks too.

It's advisable to use pads every now and then instead of tampons to allow your vagina a chance to clean itself from bacteria and tampon fibers after tampon use, overnight is the most convenient time to do this. It's also best to use pads as when laying down less blood may flow into the tampon.

No, tampons shouldn't be worn at night no matter how heavy your flow.

Tampons need to be changed every 4-6 hours, which you can't do while sleeping, furthermore you need to alternate with pads occasionally when using tampons and overnight is the most convenient time to do this. If you have heavy flow consider using menstrual cups as they're safer than tampons so can be worn for up to 12 hours without any risk, can be worn overnight, and no need to alternate with pads. Menstrual cups are also good with heavy flow as they hold more, can reduce flow, and don't leak.

Yes, if you sleep less than eight hours. Although, if you are concerned about tss, it is really very rare and you probably don't have to worry if you sleep in an hour or two(:

Is soaking three ultra tampons a hour okay?

If you're leaking through three ultra absorbency tampons in an hour you do have heavy flow - in theory that's around 18ml of flow per tampon. This is very heavy but not necessarily a sign of a problem, heavy flow can be more common if you have a hormonal imbalance such as if you're in your teens, and some people just have heavier flow than others.Talk to your doctor to make sure everything is okay and to get treatment like Tranexamic Acid to lighten your flow. I also recommend menstrual cups as they can hold up to 35ml, or the biggest cup on the market can hold up to 42ml - menstrual cups can lighten flow and have light suction so don't leak like tampons, plus unlike tampons can be worn for 12 hours without needing to alternate with pads.

Is it ok to wear a tampon without a pad or liner for extra backup?

Yes, it's okay to wear a tampon without a pad or a liner as back-up.As long as you know when to change your tampon to prevent leaks it's fine, but DO NOT use a higher absorbency in order to attempt to prevent leaking as this increases TSS risk. After some time using tampons you will know your flow pattern well enough to know what absorbency to use and for how long.

Is it okay to wear a tampon while taking doxycycline?

Yes, you can wear a tampon while taking doxycycline, no matter the reason you're taking it. Even if you are being treated for chlamydia, wearing a tampon will not affect the treatment.

A word for heavy menstrual period?

The medical term to mean a heavy period is Menorragia.Menorragia is when the menstrual flow is over 80ml, although this is still fairly light compared to many people's menstrual flow. If you're leaking through ultra tampons or maxi pads within an hour then talk to your doctor to check everything is okay and get Tranexamic Acid to reduce flow, also consider a menstrual cup which hols more flow and can even lighten your flow too.

I'm terrified to put a tampon in so I need help?

It's not that terrible. Trust me.It will be less terrifying if you use plastic tampons. cardboard ones are much more uncomfortable. Make sure your flow is heavy so it doesn't hurt when you pull it out because if you have a dried bloody tampon it'll hurt! There is only one comfortable place to put in your tampon. Don't try putting it into your poo hole. it would be very bothering to put it in the pee hole, so there must be one right in the middle!Relax. To make it fast, pull the tampon out of the plastic tube just a tiny bit so you can take out the plastic tube faster. when you know the whole tampon is in, gently pull out the plastic tube. It's okay if you don't get it in the first time. It may take at least 3 tries the first time you try it.You're pretty much done! don't keep your tampon on for more than 8 hours. The average is about 1 - 3 hours. just pull the string out slowly.

Is it okay to workout after eating heavy meals?

No, that is not advisable

When do you put tampons in?

Tampons should be changed every 4-6 hours - some tampon companies say up to 8 hours to make their products seem more convenient, but this is not safe or hygienic to do regularly. If you leak before the 4-6 hours then it's perfectly okay to remove the tampon sooner. In time you learn what absorbency to use and how often you need to change to avoid any leaking.

Do you change a tampon every hour?

It can be normal for some women, you know best what is normal for your body - if this is a new occurrence then it would be best to talk to your doctor. If you're going through a super or ultra absorbency tampon every hour then your period is heavy so it's best to check with your doctor to make sure everything is okay and look at treatment options. Do not allow your doctor to palm you off with hormonal birth control, although withdrawal bleeds on the pill can be lighter than menstrual bleeds it's not fixing the problem, it's not the most effective means of reducing flow, and it's putting you at unnecessary risk.Consider using Tranexamic Acid to reduce flow, and use menstrual cups which can be worn far longer than tampons, at times when you'd not be able to safely use tampons, don't leak like tampons, and can reduce flow.

Had your period 2 weeks ago thick brown discharge with a little blood when you put a tampon in back pain a stomach cramps im 49 years of age?

If your flow was light like this then you shouldn't have been using tampons - without sufficient flow tampons will have more of a drying effect which can cause discomfort, increased cramps, and puts you at higher risk of toxic shock syndrome. The back pain and cramps may very well be normal menstrual cramps, or increased cramps as a result of tampon misuse, but there may be another problem - if this continues talk to your doctor so they can investigate to make sure everything is okay.
