They are not very painful, and it's generally just the entry that hurts, not the extraction! I should know - I've had a quite a few in the last couple of years. Yes, sometimes they can leave a small bruise but it should heal quite quickly.

If you are afraid of needles and the sight of blood (even your own) then simply look away. The procedure is very simple and quite quick.
