If your are a licensed massage therapist, you only need to be certified in Reiki. This consists of taking classes on the subject. Otherwise, you can contact a Massage School and they can give you the information needed for your state.
Good luck.
Every state has different laws for practicing Reiki. The state of Florida only requires you to be a licensed msaage therapist if you are going to CHARGE for sessions. Anyone can give Reiki for free. Many practitioners use it for family, friends, and volunteer work. Most Reiki classes are 1 - 3 day workshops that can be taken on the weekends. You can find a Reiki Master teacher by visiting an online or local holistic/alternative directory.
No, a Reiki therapist has no medical license and cannot write prescriptions, nor make a diagnosis. Reiki is a natural, complementary therapy that works along with medical treatment.

A college Degree
You need a master's degree to become a certified speech therapist.
No a degree is not required but certification is recommended. Just as beauty schools, there are massage therapist schools that offer training and certification. No, you don't need a degree to become a massage therapist. However, it is strongly recommended that you obtain a license to increase your credentials.
Yes, not only in 2008, but even today in 2009! As a second degree reiki practitioner, I use reiki to some capacity just about every day since learning and being attuned to reiki.
To be a radiation therapist or radiotherapist, one will need to have a degree in radiation therapy. Similarly, radiation therapists with a Master or Doctoral degree can also prescribe medication.
No. Only medical certified Doctors, Dentist, Veterinarians for animals and Psychiatrists that I know of. Maybe Osteopaths... but for sure not Reiki therapists or massage therapist unless they are also a medical doctor.
Probably not, throughout the attunements given in reiki one first reaches the first degree, then the second and finally the third. At the third attunement one is initiated into the master degree, not only does this mean one aquires the knowledge to give attunements, it also means the master reiki symbol is initiated within the body of the reiki master. This master symbol allows the practitioner the energy to be able to successfully attune new practitioners.

Therapist need to go through a regular 4 year university. You can get a degree in social work or get a degree in psychology. Whatever degree that will prepare you to work with people and learn about human interactions will qualify a person to become a therapist.
I have been schooled in Ascension Reiki, and am a Level 13. It includes the Usui Reiki attunements, plus others. I received my training and attunements one attunement per week, and I didn't find it too stressful. But, it didn't take 'years'. The school I attend can be graduated I guess in 12 to 13 weeks. And you don't have to be a level thirteen to be a therapist, I believe it is level 2 believe it or not. (Which is part way through the Usui portion.) . Basic Reiki (level 1) can be learned by most people over a weekend, but becoming a real Reiki practioner (level 2) takes longer. The process of channeling and becoming proficient with Reiki expands over longer period of time - depending on the students capabilities and the teachings. To become a professional Reiki-healer can take years of practice if one is to obtain many real life cures. To become a highly skillful Reikimaster or teacher builds on the prior 2 or 3 Reiki levels and is an ongoing process. For some teachers it may last a lifetime, because Reiki is not just a healing, but also a spiritual path.
