Some common causes would include:

Plantar fasciitis - inflammation of the fascia tissue connected to the heel and bottom of your foot, especially if the pain is first thing in the morning (which can be aggravated or caused by lack of good arch support in your shoes.)

Diabetic neuropathy - nerve damage in your feet due to long term or poorly controlled Diabetes mellitus.
