What is the minimum wage for a chiropractor?

According to a survey study done by Chiropractic Economics in 2008:

• Chiropractors collected $280,000 on average in 2007

• Net practice income was $107,500 on average in 2007 (Net practice income is the dollar amount remaining after all taxes and expenses have been paid).

• Total DC compensation was $100,000 in 2007.

For unincorporated DCs, total compensation is earnings after tax-deductible expenses but before income taxes. For DCs in a professional corporation, it is the sum of salary, bonuses, and retirement/profit-sharing contributions made on their behalf.

According to a somewhat recent study (2001) looking only at Ontario (Canada) Chiropractors, the average gross annual income of Ontario area chiropractors in the study sample was $144,254.50. The median gross annual income was $131,086.80.

In The US:

Self-employed chiropractors usually earn more than salaried chiropractors. According to the American Chiropractic Association, in 2000, the average income for all American chiropractors, including the self-employed, was about $81,500 after expenses.

Salary.com says that in Colorado, the median income of a chiropractor is $87,000 a year. This can vary widely as many insurances limit the amount of chiropractic visits per year if they are covered at all. It's tough for chiropractors to build up client bases, and it can be a seasonal business.

There is no minimum wage. A new graduate may work for another DC and get perhaps 30-50K to start. Usually there is some incentive pay as well.
