If you are going to move around a lot then get a tight swimsuit not a lose bathing suit its not the same thing.Slip on some goggles and before you start stretch a little bit or just cure a few unwanted pains believe me it will help.If the water is to cold for you then go in a warmer pool .If there is no warmer pool then try getting pushed gently into the water by a friend or just try to get used to it. If you have long hair you might want to use a swimming cap too.Have fun swimming !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A good beginner swim workout would be the standard swim try to do as many laps as you can in the pool. It is recommended to try to swim about 400m-1200m.

Swim a mile with 30 second breaks every 500 yards or so.
Ok, this is something that is up my alley, I am a college swimmer, and our coach and many other coaches I know have us weaight train BEFORE a swim workout. After the weights, we swim at least 5,000 yds to loosen up after the workout, and then we don't meet again till the afternoon. (weight training is at around 6am). Remember when doing weights, you want low/medlow weight and high repition, as well as stretch well before and after weights, and before and after swimming. I hope this helped you out, good luck with you training.
Its better after a workout but you can before also.
It mean after your workout; not before or during, but right after.
Before and after
The phrase "before you watched me swim" is a dependent clause (meaning that it couldn't stand along as a sentence).
It is not mandatory but having a small meal before a workout doesnt hurt. It will give you the energy that you might require for a good workout. Remember not to have a full stomach meal before a workout as it is not recommended.
Using a batch pre-workout supplement before a workout can provide benefits such as increased energy, improved focus, enhanced performance, and better endurance during exercise.
There are many sites available that provide free workout plans. http://www.livestrong.com/workout/ provides several options. The most important thing is to find a plan that incorporates things you enjoy doing. If you don't like to run, but do like to swim find a plan that incorporates swimming in your workout.
