So if you are looking to increase your intake of vitamin D, this is not a beneficial way to do so because you are exposing yourself to dangerous UV rays that lead to skin cancer. The only benefit of a person sunbaking is that sunlight produces vitamin D in humans which helps with bone health and boosts the immune system. However too much sun can cause skin cancer so someone should only get sunlight in moderation.
