Diaphysis
Periosteum. The periosteum is a dense fibrous membrane that surrounds the outer surface of bones and is responsible for generating new bone tissue, contributing to the growth in thickness of long bones.
calcitonin and PTH
Osteoblasts are the bone cells responsible for secreting a substance called osteoid, which is a matrix made up of collagen and other proteins. This osteoid provides the scaffold where minerals, such as calcium and phosphate, are deposited to form solid bone tissue.
Shell, bone, a reef.
Matrix
Bone is deposited or strengthened in response to copressional forcesit is forced to carry. bone is contually being remodelled within the body and if the compressional load is reduced such as when u astronauts go into space or, a person is placed on bed rest for a long time then changes in the bone density may be seen on x-ray this is decalcification and the bone becomes less dense. If a person starts to train heavily for instance an athlete then the bone responds be laying down more bone to become stronger. The bone is deposited by cells known as osteoblasts. Therfore as long as the exercise is against weight resitance and gravity then it may be used to make bones stronger. however exercise in water such as swimming is not as effective as the compressional forces of gravity are reduced.
long bone
The femur is a long bone.
the bones used in shooting in netball is the humerus (long bone), ulna (long bone), radius (long bone), wrist - carpals and metacarpals (short bones), femur (long bone), patella (flat bone), tibia (long bone) and the fibula (long bone)
Too much calcium makes the bones brittle.
Answer is Vitamin D.(1,25 bihydroxycholecalciferol. )
It is the thigh bone. It is the longest bone in the body.
