People shouldn't be concerned about Autism.

There's a lot of people using Propaganda against Autistic people to increase their own profits or agenda: for example Autism Speaks telling people that there is an 'epidemic' to scare people about Autism so that people will donate to them to 'cure' Autism. The fact is that Autism diagnosis is increasing but that doesn't mean that Autism is on the rise, in fact there's no evidence to support the idea that it is on the rise. Autism is also not a terrible thing, what is terrible is lack of support, treatment, and acceptance of Autistic people which not only harms them but also harms families who are made to believe they must spend a fortune on unnecessary and harmful treatments to try to change their Autistic child.

Autism isn't the problem, attitudes towards Autism are the real concern.

Should people treat autism as a tragedy?

Many parents do struggle with their autistic child and are concerned about their future. Autism doesn't mean a child/adult who is mentally handicapped. Autistic brains think different and many autistic people only deserved to be understood and not treated like they're sick or handicapped. Autistic children/adults are not sick or handicapped. Many parents should try to understand their autistic child instead of being scared all the time.

Is Autism capitalized?

No, the word autism is not capitalized. If it were named after a person, it would be capitalized. One of the first persons to study autism was Kanner, so sometimes there are references to "Kanner's autism", where Kanner is capitalized. Similarly, "Asperger's Syndrome", an autism spectrum disorder that is named after another doctor who studied autism, has Asperger's capitalized because it is the name of a person.
