Yes! and you know why? Because the body is concentrating on swallowing the water so much that you forget to hiccup. It may seem silly but it actually does help!
yes it did stop upside down on the loop
Hiccups are not actually caused by drinking too much water, and drinking water very slowly or holding your breath for ten seconds, drinking for ten seconds and then holding your breath again for ten seconds actually helps to get rid of them;something to do with calming the flow of air through your lungs helps to slow down and eventually stop the hiccups. hope this helps!
Hiccups are caused by air getting trapped in your diaphragm. This can happen while eating or drinking and will usually stop after a few minutes.
There are a few ways to cure hiccups, so I'll list them all. 1. Hang upside down and drink water. 2. Hold your breath. 3. (not a lot of people know) brush your teeth upside down. 4. Lastly, you can hold your breath and spin ( do for about 5-10 seconds). These are few of the many ways to cure hiccups. If you have a minor case or major case and none of these work, e-mail me at kassie_ggg@rocketmail.com for more ways or to get an appointment with me to stop these hiccups. Thank you and I hope these 4 things work for you!
set glass up right, not upside down to dry, this should correct the problem.
The man had the hiccups and the water helped him stop it, and the gun scared him which also help stop his hiccups as well?
A centered tab stop
No they are not rendered unconcious when upside down. They calm down and stop fighting and flapping but they continue to blink and be aware of what is going on around them. The very instant they are inverted they run.
You put it upside down!!
turn your device upside down
Yes. The person may scream or gasp which will stop the spasms causing the hiccups.
Well, the answer to your question is that holding your breath does not stop hiccups. In fact, pouring yourself a drink of anything, really, and bending your neck down, then drinking it, stops them. I'm laughing at this answer, because as you drink a whole glass of "anything, really", whether your neck is bent down, up, or sideways ... unless you are holding your breath while you do so, it doesn't work. if you are drinking AND breathing, that's called "sipping", and it does nothing to help your hiccups. but if you are NOT drinking anything, but just taking the biggest breath you can take and then holding it as long as you can, the hiccups go away. it may take more than one try ...but it works. EVERY TIME. i'm no doc, but i just did it right now, this very second.it took 2 tries, but it works. EVERY TIME, with drinking, without drinking, with my neck holding ANY way whatsoever ...it's all about the breath, and holding it does the trick. i've heard, "eat a spoonful of sugar", "drink vinegar" "drink a glass of water upside down" lay on your side and whistle dixe out your butt as hard as you can (ok, that last i just made up to press the POINT =) ... that no matter WHAT remedy you go for ...it's the holding your breath THRU that exercise that does the trick. i mean, really, when was the last time you whistled dixie out your tuckas without holding your breath WHILE you were doing it, hmm? EXACTLY. hold your breath. hold it long, hold it strong, just do it. it works. they WILL go away. =]
