Yes. You should never mess with your hormones. Read the label where it talks about possible side effects, they include cancer and other things you would hope to never have in your lifetime. Take it correctly or don't take it at all. If you want to avoid problems in the future, go natural and use a condom or diaphram. Birth Control messes with the body and drug companies don't know everything about the pills they allow people to take. No, there is absolutely no harm in skipping a period. It is not a true period, just a withdrawal bleed from the hormones. Many women plan their pills so that they do not have a bleed whil on vacation or for a party etc.

Starting BCP will not bring your period. The breakthrough bleeding that some women get while taking the inactive (sugar) pills is only due to a drop in hormones, it is not actually a period at all.

I would be more concerned with why you have not had a period in two months, rather than using BCP to try and make it start. If you are sexually active and have not taken a pregnancy test, this would be a place to start. If you are sexually active and not pregnant, by all means start taking the pill - so you will not end up pregnant. First call your doctor and discuss with him the possible reasons you have not had a period in two months.

You can skip your period if you start a new pack right after your old pack without taking the 7 pills with no hormones. I have done it, but I didn't ask my doctor if there were any risks.

There is no harm in taking the birth control pill continuously to skip a period. You may have spotting during the second cycle. You will not increase your risk of pregnancy.

Can you avoid period?

Yes. If you take certain contraceptive pills you can take 2 packets back-to-back to avoid your period if you are going on holiday etc. If you are thinking more long term than just one period, the mirena coil is supposed to be good at reducing/stopping periods. Sometimes if you are healthy enough your period will stop as long as you stay that healthy (the type of healthiness I am talking of is 100% Raw vegan)

What do you do if you took your birth control too early?

Avoid sex until you are back on the pills properly.

If you have just been given loestrin 20 from your doctor after the 21 days of pills do you have your period and go back to the pill once you're finished with your period?

Hi, When the pack has finished or the active pills, then you should get your period. After 7 days you restart a new pack of pills.

What do you do if you miss more than three pills and you got your period?

If you missed more than three pills, you wait till your period is over and start a new pack. This way you get yourself back on track.

What happens if you stay on the pill for longer than three weeks?

You can continue to take the non-placebo pills back to back for awhile without any really bad side effects, but if you take a tri-phasil type (usually different color for each week), then you may still get a light period since the hormone level will drop some. If you want to do this temporarily to avoid your period for a particular week, then after you finish one pack (but not the placebo pills) start taking the week three pills on the first week, then the second week pills afterwards, followed by the first week during your third week. This will taper your hormones more slowly and you won't be as likely to get your period. Taking them back to back like this may make you feel more bloated though since you aren't having your period. I wouldn't do this routinely unless your doctor says it's okay. If you want to have less periods during the year, ask your doctor about the pills that you take for three months before you get your period.

What if my period is gone and it come back just if you take pills?

that question doesnt make any sense.

Can you take birth control to start your period back up?

no. Birth control pills can stop periods altogether, shorten them, or turn them in to "spotting" If you were getting your period before you started the pills. If you stop at any time during your cycle this should bring on your period.

Can you take your orthotricylin lo with suboxone?

Yes, this is OK. What you want to avoid with the addiction treatment is taking pills or herbs to try to change your mood. You want to avoid habit forming medicines that are going to lure you back into those old unhealthy habits. The birth control pills are fine.

Missed a few pills period started early what now?

Get back on the pill and use a back up method until you have taken 7 pills in 7 days. If you were more than half way through the packet you were taking skip the inactive pills in the packet and go straight to the active pills in your next packet. If you were still in the first week just start taking the pills as if you had not missed any, but you will still need to use back up BC until you have taken 7 pills in 7 days.
