That is a broad question. If your hand actually hurts all the time whenever you move it then you need an evaluation by an orthopedist, and not an on-lne answer. You need to be worked up for carpal tunnel syndrome, Arthritis, gout, just to name a few. You will need xrays as well.

I broke my right hand about 5 weeks ago and my left rib 4 days ago. I am a first grade teacher so I can't really take off. It hurts to do anything, if I move my left arm my rib shifts, if i try to do anything with my right hand then it hurts. If anyone has any suggestions to ease the pain I'm all ears!
