Black Africa did not get any benefits from colonialization. NONE! The current African countries did get tremendously harmed. African resources were stolen and shipped to Europe. Infrastructure was put in place only to the extent that it would facilitate transfer of resources to Europe and the import of expensive finished products back to the colonies. With no education in place for the masses, early African leaders learned from the colonists that government's role is exploitation of resources for the good of people other than the masses of indigenous people. They were great at emulating this behavior.

Colonial powers in Africa primarily employed direct and indirect rule to govern their territories. Direct rule involved the establishment of colonial administrations with officials from the colonizing country making decisions and enforcing laws, often disregarding local customs.
