No, the bombing was not purposely on the civilian businesses and homes. Some civilians did get killed and hurt. The bombing affected businesses and the housing market when people began to move back to the continental US. The economy did recover once the deluge of Sailors and other people came to Hawaii for the war effort.
The demand to make steel skyrocketed and more industrial jobs began to replace the homes in Tunrner's Station.
i think it was maybe because the more stable Europe was the more they would export from the US.. during the war they were exporting lots of war materials and that helped the US greatly during the depression..more money was being pumped into the country.. but i guess that doesn't REALLY answer the question. I'm writting a paper on this now and i wish more people left answers...that's all I've got. I think the question is asking for a very distorted view of History.......Why would any nation ever enter a war for economic reasons ????? Put simply the US entered WW2 because the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. I accept there were economic factors concerning the US entry into the war, of course there were, but to suggest there were reasons.... Hmmm well, you've got me thinking, I'll give you that !
If the US wouldn't have cut off the oil supply to japan there wouldn't have been any problems. But with that being said, the encampment of Japanese people had to be taken into play. Japanese people caused a threat against the united states. Any Japanese person could have been a spy or anything of that matter. so the taking into place of the encampments had to be done. The Cons of the encampment were that innocent Japanese people were taken ahold of. But as they always say better safe then sorry.
to stay out of the war except for the Jewish community who was rabidly pro war. roosevelt tried to provoke Germany into war by escorting british cargo ships around, which was in itself was a declaration of war when it didn't work they provoked japan by oil embargos they cared less about japan as it was a backdoor to Europe.
they have the same jobs as the US
Most were nurses.

When he was president many people had lost their jobs, homes, and their savings. As president Roosevelt created the New Deal.During his third term in office the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.
How were Japanese Americans treated in the US following the Pearl Harbor attack and the war with Japan? Well before December 7th 1941 there were treated like normal American citizens but as soon as Japan bombed Pearl Harbor they were treated like trash. They were riped away from their home, jobs, and even in some case family. They were trapped in internment camps for up to 6 years. Even after the government released them they weren't treated fairly. They had to work for everything back that they lost in the internment process.

Americans were involved the most in the Pacific theater because the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and that put America into the war. They suffered many casualities and it brought US out of the Depression because it created many new jobs.
