Answer 1

Yes the Arabs, whether Christian or Muslim did help the Jews on numerous occasions and the Jews did the same. The Jews assisted Arab and Amazigh Muslims in their conquests throughout the Rise of Islam period such as when the Muslims captured the city of Cordoba in Spain. They approached the Jewish community, gave them weapons, and asked them to be the stewards of the city until the Conquest of Spain was complete. Conversely, the Arabs helped the Jews settle down in the Muslim Empires (Morocco and the Ottoman Empire) after the Reconquest of Iberia by the Catholics. They also worked together against the European Crusaders that attacked anyone that was not Catholic, including Eastern Orthodox Christians.

Jews and Arabs lived peacefully in the Middle East and North Africa for hundreds of years before the establishment of Israel in 1948. Even then, many Arabized Jews fought against the Zionist Jews who cam from Europe.

Arab Jews still live in the West Bank and consider themselves Palestinian, rather than Israeli.

Answer 2

Yes. Historically, Arabs and Jews had decent relations and tolerated each other. Some of their better moments are memorialized in paragraph 1 of Answer 1. However, for much of their history together, it was not an association of equals. The Arabs were superiors and the Jews were inferiors. There were legal requirements for Jews concerning how they were to dress, where they could live, what jobs they could perform, what their testimony and wrongful deaths were worth, what taxes they would need to pay, how they could proselytize, and how they could produce, sell, and consume Alcoholic Beverages.

The reason the Jews supported Arabs, even with all of this discrimination, was that the situation in Christendom was substantially worse. When Europe and the Americas began to give Jews access to equal rights in citizenship, the Jews began to support those regimes over those led by Arabs who continued to enforce the same historical discriminatory laws against the Jews that they had enforced for a millenium. Jews from Europe came to the Middle East and began to educate Jews, leading to them becoming important in government and administration during the colonial period. It was at this point, when Jews in the Arab World became more prominent and powerful than the Muslim Arabs, that Arab tolerance of them unravelled because the Arabs were unwilling to be true equals with the Jews.

As for paragraphs 2 and 3 in Answer 1, some clarifications should be made. The "peace" it discusses refers to an era of segregation and discrimination and while there was minimal bloodshed, it was not anything close to harmony or equality which is implicit in the word peace. Zionism was much debated among Jews of the Arab World. Some agreed with the European position, believing that Jews would never have a place in the Arab-led Middle East otherwise; some disagreed with Zionism because they believed that Jews had a stake in local Arab Nationalism; and others disagreed with Zionism to avoid offending their Arab countrymen regardless of whether they would have actually wanted such a state or not. However, in no circumstance did Jews actually kill each other or join armies and militias to prevent the establishment of a Jewish State. Jews were, by law, prohibited from the armed forces of all seven belligerent nations and the two Palestinian militant groups in the Arab-Israeli Wars. Finally, there are no Jews left in the West Bank except the Settlers. All of the Palestinian Jews fled the Jordanian-occupied West Bank in 1948 and 1949 to avoid attacks from neighboring Arab villages. Aside from the Settlements, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are effectively Judenrein (a German term meaning "devoid of Jews").

What was most responsible for helping Israel to become an independent nation?

The United Nations After World War I, the League of Nations asked Great Britain to govern Palestine. (This land had been taken away from the Ottoman Empire partly because the Ottomans had been Germany's ally during World War I.) But the British had great difficulty ruling the land because Jews and Arabs in Palestine often quarreled with each other. After World War II, the quarrels between Palestinian Jews and Arabs became fierce battles. And to make matters worse for the British, Palestinian Jews and Arabs began to attack them as well. By 1947 the British had had enough. They asked the U.N. to take responsibility for Palestine and end the fighting between the Jews and Arabs.

Are Jews and Arabs in conflict?

The Arabs and original Jews (Hebrews) are semitic peoples who descend from Abraham through his sons Ishmael & Isaac.I think a better question would be are Hebrews and Arabs related. And your answer is yes. Abraham (who was promised by God that all of the prophets will be his sons), had two sons, Isaac and Ishmael, The Hebrews descended from Isaac and the Arabs descended from Ishmael. There were a lot of prophets of Isaac's side and there were four on Ishmael's side. God kept his promise to Abraham, and all of the prophets whom God sent including Mohammad were from Abraham. But to answer the question, yes, Jews and Arabs are distant cousins (though this doesn't apply to those who have converted to Judaism). The Hebrew Jews would have similar DNA to the Arabs (though not identical), mainly because they both had the same father - Abraham. Also, some Jews migrated to other parts of the world as people conquered Israel over and over again and kicked out the natives. These migrating Jews mixed in with other places (Ex. Germany, Russia, France, Great Britain). They learned to speak the language and started to look like the people around them (from mixing a lot) and you can still see a lot of non-Arab looking Jews today, mainly in the USA and Europe.Answer:DNA testing of Jewish communities worldwide has shown that all Jews are related to each other and are of Middle Eastern origin, thus debunking the old anti-Semitic claim (concerning Western Jews) to the contrary.Furthermore, just as today, early Jews (Israelites) came in differing skin-tones, heights, and body-types. Our tradition is that the twelve sons of Jacob (the 12 Tribes) were not completely similar to each other in appearance; and none of them was really dark-skinned (Rashi commentary on Genesis 12:11).

Why do Jews hate Arabs?

First, it's important to note that not all Arabs hate all Jews, nor do all Jews hate all Arabs. This misconception is often promoted due to the Palestine-Israel conflict. Many Arabs, and for that matter, non-Arabs do not like what the Israeli government does, but this should not be mistaken for anti-Semitism.Keep this mind when reading the answers below.Answer 1Ignorance, just like any other form of racism.Answer 2See the link below to "What are the causes of the Jewish-Arab Conflict" which alludes to a number of conflicts between Arabs and Jews. Much of Arab hatred for Jews stems from these issues. Also see the link to "Why do Muslims hate Jews?" which explains many other reasons for such hatred. It is important to note, however, that hatred of the other is present only in a minority of each side. It just so happens that the minority is very vocal.Answer 3Not really. Jew have always lived in Arab communities for centuries in various locations, such as Iraq and Egypt. Arab are not known for discrimination against Jews or Christians. There is a current conflict between Arabs and Israelis in the Middle East due to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. This one conflict, however, should not be used to taint Arab-Jewish relation.Answer 4Arabs are angered primarily, as concerns the Jews, with the issues in Palestine where Jews forcibly resettled and eliminated hundreds of Palestinian cities. This grave violation of the Rights of the Palestinians greatly incenses the Arabs. Another issue that bothers the Arabs is the Jews have, in spite of their numbers, garnered an important place in the world economy. Even though most rational Arabs realize that Jews do not actually control the economy, there are a disproportionate number of Jews in prominent economic and political positions, whereas Arabs have been almost completely excluded from the World Economy. Arabs are also angry that Israel appears to be expanding its territory with its conquest of the Sinai Peninsula on two separate occasions, its annexation of the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem (in contravention of the Arab understanding of UN Resolution 242) and continued settlement of the West Bank. Jews outside of Israel do not criticize these actions.

When will Jews and Arabs love each other?

Two things have to happen for Jews and Arabs to love each other. a) The extremists on both sides have to be eliminated. b) Religion must be eliminated. It's a moot question, of course, because neither of these conditions will ever be fulfilled, and the hatred will continue until one side has utterly destroyed the other.

When did the Jews and Arabs start fighting?

If the question is asking when the Jews and Arabs have been fighting each other to determine the fate of the former British Mandate of Palestine, the answer is that they have been fighting each other since the 1920s. If the question is asking when Jews and Arabs first fought at all, the earliest historically verified battles fought by Jews happened nearly 2800 years ago and the Bible alludes to even earlier confrontations. There is minimal documentation on Arabs that has survived from over 2000 years ago, but it is highly likely that Arab tribes were fighting each other back then. Arab military expansion out of Arabia occurred as early as 650 or so C.E. when Caliph Omar expanded the Islamic Caliphate into the Levant.
