Historically the answer has to be yes but the scope differs. Malaysia was involved indirectly in World War 2 when the she got invaded by the Japanese and those were tough times for Malaysians of that generation. However technically the answer has to be no. This is because Malaysia was officially independent on 1957 and formed in 1963. There was no such country as "Malaysia" in the 1940s. Recent times there have been disputes with neighbouring countries such as Indonesia and Philippines over territorial rights especially with reference to ownership of surrounding islands. A few months back there was another dispute over ownership of an island with Singapore. This was won by Singapore. Malaysia has also been involved in sending peacekeepers to Africa,Bosnia and Iraq. Overall Malaysia is a peaceful country. The nearest equivalent to be involved in a armed conflict was the counter-insurgency of Communists from 1948~1986, and the brief "Confrontation" with Indonesia in the mid 1960s, right after the formation of Malaysia.
