Salomon (April 7, 1740 - January 6, 1785) was a Jew, born in Poland. He was a broker who worked with Robert Livingstone. the superintendent for finance for the 13 colonies. His most important contribution was to raise $20,000 from selling bills of exchange for Washington just prior to the Battle of Yorktown when Washington's army was destitute and troops were threatening to mutiny.

In all he raised over $650,000 for Washington from selling bills of exchange a personal loans.
