Well, One reason is that Marco Polo did an extraordinary thing that helped all of us today. But the main reason that changed the US is that he discovered China and Central Asia which now is a big part of the USA. He had to battle and walk through difficult times and we now stand as great people from him. But the main point is, is that he made the United States bigger when he discovered it. :D
