The Pearl Harbor National Monument is located on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, specifically at Pearl Harbor. It is not far from land, as it is directly adjacent to the coast. The monument itself includes sites like the USS Arizona Memorial, which is situated over the sunken battleship and is easily accessible from the shore. Overall, it is only a few hundred yards from the nearest land.
If you mean because of the attack on Pearl Harbor, then no. But Korea broke away from Japan during WWII.
Declared war on Japan after Pearl Harbor invasion.
Navajo men may not have known how far away Pearl Harbor was due to limited access to maps and geographic education, particularly in remote areas. Cultural differences in navigation and an emphasis on oral traditions over written information could have contributed to a lack of familiarity with distances. Additionally, the focus on immediate community concerns rather than distant events may have hindered their awareness of such locations. Lastly, the historical context of World War II and the U.S. government's treatment of Native Americans may have limited their engagement with broader national issues.
they didnt, we declared war on them for attacking us. they "provoked" us to declare war, though we provoked them first by taking away their oil
They used a shock and awe method of surprising the US Naval Fleet who was unprepared for any attack. They were to totally disable the USN fleet and the airplanes. They did that but did not get the aircraft carriers not realizing they were away from Pearl Harbor conducting maneuvers.

Taiwan was called Formosa then, and is located off the Chinese mainlandz; over 3,000 miles away.
This question refers to the United States Navy aircraft carriers of the USS Lexington and Saratoga. These two carrier were by away from port at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese assault on December 7th 1941.
The Washington monument is located on a flat, open air grassy area. The nearest trees are almost 500 yards away. There is a lone Cherry Tree that stands near the monument about 200 yards away (see related link for a picture of it).
The processes of weathering and erosion, which were caused by wind, ice, and water, are responsible for exposing the dinosaur fossils at Dinosaur National Monument. Weathering is the process of rock being broken into sediments. Erosion is when those sediments are carried away by wind and water.

8 ships? Whose 8 ships? The US had more than eight ships in the harbor; and Japan had more than eight warships in their attack fleet.
The Japanese feared American would join The Allies in WWII (world war 2), so they wanted to attack us before we attacked them. At that time, the U.S.A only had a few Aircraft Carriers (it was between 3 and 5) and they were all located at pearl harbor. The Japanese generals believed that if they could destroy those aircraft carriers (which are ships that can carry hundreds of jets, planes, bombs, and fire power) they could cripple America enough so that they could not interfere with their plans. Luckily (or by some unknown act of heroism), those aircraft carriers were not in pearl harbor when it was attacked. They were out doing some practice drills. They were informed of that attack though, and were told to stay away from pearl harbor (well, they were told to travel away, because there was the possibility of the Japanese airfleet coming that direction). i also heard that 1 or 2 of the carriers were still in the harbor and were destroyed.
