Although elements of the US Army Rangers could've conducted operations as early as Eisenhower's administration in 1955, since they were experienced in such functions, it's always easier to accept the fact that the 75th Rangers arrived with the primary line units in '65; and not departing completely until '75.
The bulk of the US troops may have departed in '73, but special operation units were far from done with their work. They stayed, until it was all over.

The United States Army has several elite forces. The Army Special Forces are sometimes referred to as "Green Berets." There are also Army Rangers, and Airborne units. For many years, these were the only army units that wore berets.
Army Rangers typically serve for a minimum of three years after completing their training, although many choose to extend their service. Green Berets, or Special Forces soldiers, also have a minimum service commitment of three years post-training, but similar to Rangers, many extend their service based on personal preference and career opportunities. Both roles often involve long-term commitments due to the intensive training and specialized skills acquired.
