There is no set age you have to be to become the King or Queen of England. When the current monarch dies, a new one is automatically appointed. The person to ascend to the throne is determined by the Royal Line of Succession, which is a list of members of the royal parties that are in the order of who is to take monarchy first, in the event that the current monarch were not able to fulfill their duties, in which the only reason for this, is death. There has not been a Queen (or King) of England for over 300 years, England is a part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland but has not had its own, separate monarch since 1707.
