The nobility had many pastimes when they weren't in a war or practicing skills as a knight. Horse races were very big, hunting, gambling, games of chance, dancing, tournaments, raising Falcons, dice games, Bowling, Archery contests, and other things. Part of each day was training for battle and some of the above activities help in that. They also were lords of the manor which meant they had to oversee the problems that came up, sit as judge in a dispute, host the king and other nobles, make sure the manor ran efficiently, make sure taxes were collected, payments made to the crown, and train the young men who were sent to the manor to become Knights.
