Most american's lived in cabins and they worked in factories or were farmers.
In the 1820s, Americans moved to Texas primarily for economic opportunities, including the promise of fertile land for agriculture and the potential for wealth through cotton farming. The Mexican government encouraged immigration to boost the population and develop the region. Additionally, many settlers sought to escape economic hardships or social constraints in the United States. The allure of a new frontier and the prospect of land ownership further motivated this migration.

They relaxed their immigration policies and allowed American immigrants to populate these northern territories under the empresario system.
In the 1820s, most residents of Texas were Mexican nationals. I presume they supported the government of Mexico (although there were Mexicans who fought with the Americans at Alamo). I suspect that most of the Americans living in Texas in the 1820s supported slavery and independence (slavery was illegal in Mexico).
Hotels symbolize the American spirit in 1820s through the 1840s by showing how eager people were to show American pride especially around holidays such as independence day.
