There is apparently a book series called Island or something similar to it that makes this claim, but as far as I can tell the claim is wholly unsubstantiated.
All the documentation I have ever seen is fairly specific that only three nuclear devices were constructed prior to the end of World War II: "The Gadget", which was exploded in the New Mexico desert during the Trinity test, "Little Boy", which was dropped on Hiroshima, and "Fat Man" (basically a clone of The Gadget), which was dropped on Nagasaki. The US did either intentionally or inadvertently imply to the Japanese that there were additional atomic bombs ready to deploy, but the memoirs of those involved in, and articles and declassified documents relating to, the Manhattan project indicate that there were not.
For an excellent and very readable history of the Manhattan project (even if you're not particularly knowledgeable about physics), I recommend the book Brighter than a Thousand Suns. It specifically quotes one of the scientists involved as saying that the name "Trinity" used for the atomic test was probably chosen simply because there were, at that time, three atomic bombs in existence and/or development.
Richard Feynman's autobiography Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman also has some personal anecdotes about his involvement in the Manhattan Project, and likewise doesn't say anything about a fourth bomb.
An August 10 memo from General Leslie Groves, in charge of the Manhattan project, says in part that he expects the next bomb to be ready for delivery around August 17 or 18 (i.e. a couple of days after Japan actually surrendered). If there is one single unimpeachable source as to the nonexistence of a fourth bomb at the time, it would be this... Groves' reputation and career were riding on the success of the project, upon which almost two billion dollars (in 1945 dollars, equivalent to almost 25 billion in 2013) had been spent, and unlike some of the scientists involved he had never expressed any qualms about their use; he hardly would have said "sorry guys, we could maybe have one for you in a week or so" if there was one ready, or nearly ready, to go.
There's a discussion comment that disagrees, so I guess it boils down to: do you believe this answer, with all the details and work shown above, or do you believe a semi-literate comment?
The first bomb, which was dropped on Hiroshima was named "Little Boy." The second bomb, which was dropped on Nagasaki was named "Fat Man."
The atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima was named "Little Boy." The atomic bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki was named "Fat Man."
It was used in the world war two, its an atomic bomb!
The atom bomb was not in existence during World War One, also known as "The Great War".
Fission.
The bomb that was dropped by the United States was named "Little Boy".
Yes there was a third atomic bomb named Junior. But the bomb was never used.Insead it was buried,on an unmapped island. But the reason they did not use it was Beacuse they did not have to.Beacuse after Fat Man and Little Boy was built and dropped the war ended. So that caused them not to use the third atomic bomb,Junior. Yes, it does. If you read the true series Island by Gordon Korman, that is where the shipwrecked sailors land. It is a great series to read. It includes a lot of facts about World War 2. Junior Island is named after the third bomb codenamed Junior that never got dropped. That bomb was on Junior Island. (that was a great book) EDIT: Original post said the series was by Gary Paulson. He must have been thinking of Hatchet.

The world was going through world war two. The atomic bomb ended the war.
The Second World War.
The atomic bomb was sopower full that japan surrendered a couple days after the second bomb. This nuclear weapon is what led World war II to an end. Not World war I
Those were the bomb dropped over Hiroshima and Nagasaki named Little boy and Fat Man. They were dropped on August 6 and 9 1945.
It was the Atomic bomb.
