Prior to the seven continents of earth breaking apart, they looked like complete jigsaw puzzle. The puzzle was called Pangaea and occurred over two hundred million years ago.
When the continents were together it was called "pangea"
Out of the seven continents, five have land in the eastern hemisphere. They are Asia, Africa, Antarctica, Australia/Oceana, and Europe.
The size of that tract of land was believed to be to large to be controlled by a single government.
Europe and Asia.
Asia and Africa
Asia and Europe
Europe and Asia are the two continents that are located on a single land mass. This means that there isn't a large body of water separating the 2 continents.
Continents, Islands
They are the seven continents: Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, South America, Australia, and Antarctica.
Large masses of land are called continents.
That one land mass is known as Pangea!
Eurasia is the single land mass that consists of Europe and Asia. It is the largest contiguous landmass on Earth, and the terms Europe and Asia are used to distinguish the western and eastern parts of this landmass.
Land.
The theory is called continental drift, proposed by Alfred Wegener in the early 20th century. It suggests that at one point in Earth's history, all continents were connected into a single supercontinent called Pangaea. Over millions of years, the continents drifted apart to their current positions.
Large landmasses in the ocean are called continents. These are massive areas of land that are surrounded by water bodies like seas and oceans. Examples of continents include Africa, Asia, and North America.
