The Vietnamese New Year (Nguyen Tet, commonly called 'Tet') was January 31, 1968. On that night, the North Vietnamese Army and the Viet Cong launched a coordinated attack on every major city in South Vietnam. This became known as the Tet Offensive. Any Vietnam vet who found himself 'in country' the 31st of January, 1968 remembers that night well. Little did we know that up in I Corps, that would mean more than three weeks of continuous fighting as we worked to defeat the North Vietnamese Army occupation of Hue city. By every single military account - including those of our enemy - the Tet campaign of 1968 was a resounding defeat of North Vietnamese Communist strategy and planning. We proved that NVA and Viet Cong forces could not effectively carry out a country-wide attack. While Americans at home were watching U.S. troops lying wounded in the streets of Hue and house-to-house urban battle, we were proving our mettle successfully on the battlefield. Each American veteran of February '68 Vietnam can stand proud, knowing that what we did was right, and we frustrated significantly the North Vietnamese leadership with our effective defense. Unfortunately, American News outlets mis-reported the Tet offensive as a major victory for the North Vietnamese communist forces - fueling greater public opposition to our involvement in Vietnam.

What are the major turning points of atheism?

Atheism is simply the lack of belief in gods. There are no major turning points of atheism except one: Some people who have been exposed to religious belief early in life reach a significant point in life where they realize that belief in a supernatural father figure who controls human destiny and must be worshipped and obeyed is simply illogical, irrational and manmade. They decide to abandon religious belief and belief in gods. Some people are never exposed to religious belief and so that turning point need not occur. They lack any turning point.
