The Jewish claim to Israel is that Jews have lived on this land without interruption for over 3000 years. That this land is their ancestral land. Religious Jews have the additional claim that the land was promised to the Jews by God.
The people who now refer to themselves as Palestinian (prior to 1967, the only people who named themselves were Jews) are made up of a combination of descendants of Jews who converted to Christianity and Islam in ancient times, Syrians, Lebanese, and Egyptians. A large percentage of Jewish people did not enter Israel until after 1920.
The Arabs who chose to not support the attacking Arab countries in 1948 went on to become full Israeli citizens with all the rights citizenship entails.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is very complex, but i will summarize it for you. There was no such thing called Israel before 1948, it was Palestine, from the river to the sea, the whole land. in the 19th century Jews were prosecuted in Europe, so they established the Zionist movement which its main goal is to establish a Jewish state. The Zionist had their eyes on Palestine.before world war 1 Jews population in Palestine consisted of 3%.. 97% were majority Muslims and some Christians. The Jews stared to immigrate to Palestine after world war 1 to take over the land. They slaughtered and killed many Palestinians who were the indigenous people of the land. united nations decided to seperate the land, 56% for jews and 44% for Palestinian, which is unfair for Palestinians because its their homeland. So they established the State of Israel and they started to steal more and more land. Now its about 95% of the land for Israel, and 5% for the Palestinians, while before world war 1 it was 100% for Palestinians who the whole land belongs to them. I hope my information was useful and that i summarized the conflict in a simple way .
Palestinians is a nickname of the Arabs that lives in Israel but are not Israel citizens. There is no war between to them and the Arabs. Maybe you meant the war between the Arabs and the Jews.
There are isolated skirmishes between Religious Zionists and the Israeli Army. These come as a result of the Religious Zionists belief that Jews are promised all of the territory of the Land of Israel by God and therefore Palestinians are not entitled to any of it whereas the Israeli government has made concessions to the Palestinian Authority for peace. However, most of the confrontations are not between Israelis and Jews, but between Israelis (who are themselves mostly Jewish) and Palestinians. This conflict is described in more detail in the Related Question.
The Land of Israel (Ereṣ Yisra'el in Hebrew) is the section of land in the Levant on the coast of the Eastern Mediterranean whose borders are defined in the Bible. The Land of Israel is the historical and spiritual homeland of the Jews. Historically it was home to the Israelites and other Semitic tribes. It was not until the Jews had been living their for 3,000 or so years that Arabs came to the Land of Israel. The State of Israel (Medinat Yisra'el) is the country created in 1948 by Zionists like Ben-Gurion, replacing what was previously known as the British Mandate of Palestine. It is home Jews from around the world and Palestinians. It has a unique culture, a fusion of Jewish, Arab, Yiddish, and Sefardi cultures. Modern Hebrew and Arabic are the official languages.
Historic Palestine or the Land of Israel. (Both are regional names for the same piece of land, roughly.)
Jews do not think this. Most Israeli Jews support a two-state solution. They just want the Palestinians to recognize Israel's right to exist.
The land of Israel belongs to the Jews, which was given to them by God thousands of years ago. The Arabs are thieves and murderers. If you mess with Israel, you mess with God and that is not a good idea.
Both Jews and Muslims have historical and religious connections to the land of Israel/Palestine, which contribute to their claims. For Jews, the land is central to their identity, rooted in biblical narratives and centuries of history as a homeland. For Muslims, particularly Palestinians, the land holds significant cultural and religious importance, including the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. This deep connection to the land fuels their respective national identities and aspirations for self-determination.
Neither the Palestinians or Jews deserve the land of israel if they keep on fighting. I think that they should simply split up the land equally into two : problem solved!!!!! Then there will be two countries : Palestine and Israel and so they can live in peace.
Israel controls 78% of the former Mandate of Palestine compared with 22% in the West Bank and Gaza. However, it should be noted that Palestinians are not forced to live there; they can literally live anywhere in the world other than Israel and a large number of Palestinians who did not flee Israel live inside of Israeli borders without restriction.
The Gaza Strip
Most of what they gained in 1948, when the UN drew up the map but the "Palestinians" rejected the whole notion of partition and attacked Israel.
