There was no hostile action in 1990, that was Operation Desert SHIELD a military build up of forces in Saudi Arabia; to be used in case Saddam didn't remove his forces from Kuwait. Hostile operations commenced on or about 15 January 1991 and lasted about 100 hours before Saddam removed his forces from Kuwait. UK casualties were about 47 Killed, many from friendly fire.
