Rome expanded its territory across a vast area, including much of Europe, North Africa, and parts of the Middle East. Key regions included the Italian Peninsula, the Iberian Peninsula (modern Spain and Portugal), Gaul (modern France), Britain, the Balkans, Greece, and parts of Asia Minor (modern Turkey). Additionally, Rome controlled North African territories such as Carthage (modern Tunisia) and Egypt. This extensive empire facilitated the spread of Roman culture, law, and infrastructure throughout these regions.
There was not a military takeover in Rome. There was the military anarchy of the Crisis of the Third Century, where many emperors were military commanders who had been proclaimed emperors by their troops. However, this was not actually a military takeover. There were many civil wars and the turnover of emperors was high as many were murdered by troops, sometimes even by their own troops which had proclaimed them sometimes because they did not want to fight civil wars against rivals who wanted to depose the incumbent emperor.
The two greatest achievements in Rome are in the areas of architecture and law.
the roman empire
It means something like takeover or overthrow.
The takeover by the Goth Odoacer from Emperor Romulus in 376 CE.
It's takeover by Rome.
1. Infighting amongst each other. 2. Conquest by Macedonia. 3. Takeover by Rome. 4. Takeover by the Ottoman Turks.
The Gothic takeover of the Western Empire in 476 CE and the Turkish takeover of the Western Empire in 1453 CE.
1. Infighting amongst each other. 2. Conquest by Macedonia. 3. Takeover by Rome. 4. Takeover by the Ottoman Turks.
There was not a single barbarian who helped to weaken Rome. There were several. Attila of the Huns raided the eastern part of the Roman Empire three times and tried to invade Gaul and then Italy. Alaric I of the Visigoths besieged the city of Rome three times and on the third occasion he sacked it. Later Rome was also sacked by Ginseric of the Vandals. There were also invasions by several Germanic peoples, the takeover of Spain by the Visigoths, the expansion form the northern areas of Gaul into the rest of Gaul by the Franks (which started with king Clovis) and the takeover of Britain by the Angles, Saxon, Jutes and Frisians.
Infinitely small.
