The United States and Canada

Thanksgiving is predominately celebrated in the United States and Canada, Canada on the second Monday of October and the United States on the fourth Thursday of November.

Other countries that celebrate Thanksgiving are:

Liberia (West Africa) - fourth Thursday of November

The Netherlands - same day as the U.S. Thanksgiving - A non-denominational church service is held in the Pieterskerk, a Gothic church in Leiden, in the morning. It commemorates the hospitality the pilgrims who lived in Leiden from 1600 - 1620 received on their way to the New World.

Norfolk Island - last Wednesday of November - It was brought to the island by visiting American whaling ships.
