The three major countries that made up the Axis Powers during World War II were Germany, Italy, and Japan. These nations formed an alliance based on their shared ideology and desire to expand their territories. Together, they posed a significant threat to the Allied Powers during the war.
Fascism first appeared in Italy during the 20's. Benito Mussilini was the first Facist leader of note.Fascism is a right-wing form of government that is based on nationalism. It was created in Italy and spread to Germany and Spain (although Spain's fascism isn't usually compared to Italy and Germany).
No nation attacked Japan without being attacked first in WW2. The United States was the first country to attack Japan after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Japan invaded Manchuria in 1931 and China in 1937. In 1939 Japan invaded Mongolia but were repelled by the Soviet army; the two nations signed a non-aggression pact and were at peace through 1945. Japan's invasion of French Indochina in 1940 overran Vichy-controlled French forces, and the result was a non-aggression pact among Japan, Germany and Italy. Western powers initially responded only with embargoes against Japan. The Allied supreme command for southeast Asia was formed in early 1942, shortly after the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. In April 1942 the US launched the first carrier-based air raid on Tokyo, the 'Doolittle raid' and May saw the first major naval battle at Coral Sea.
I would say that WWII was caused by both historical and economic factors because the are interdependent. The treaty of Versailles made Germany repay repatations, it made them mad. Also Depression was also all throughout Europe.
Answer Italy - Mussolini's cabinet met to vote him out of office. The Allies had invaded Sicily and were bombing Rome and the Italians did not want the war to destroy their ancient cities. Later, at the end of the war, the partisans captured Mussolini and executed him. Germany - Germany followed Hitler and fought until the country was completely conquered by the Russians approaching from the east and the Allies from the west. Hitler killed himself and the German army surrendered. Japan - The Allies knew the Japanese were preparing their citizens to fight to protect their country. The US dropped 2 atomic bombs on Japan and they were convinced that further fighting was futile. They surrendered on the USS Missouri to General MacArthur.

The following countries have been the Great Powers since 2000: China France Germany Japan Russia United Kingdom United States Great Powers are based not only on economics, but also on military power. China, France, Russia, the UK, and the US are all the permanent members of the United Nations and are the recognized nuclear weapons states of the world (Germany is a nuclear weapon sharing state). They are also the most powerful nations based on military power. Germany and Japan are not as strong in a military sense, but are major economic powers, having the fourth and third largest economies in the world respectively. China, France, Russia, the UK, and the US also have the largest economies in the world. Brazil, Italy, India, and Canada all have larger economies than Russia (Italy is a nuclear weapon sharing state as well). However, these countries are not considered powerful enough on a military stance to be a Great Power. For example, both India and Brazil have one of the largest armies on the planet, but they are still not high enough on a military stance to be a Great Power.
An agreement between a group of people or countries is called an alliance. For example: Japan, Germany, and Italy were a fascist based alliance during World War II.
