The elderly looked after children when fathers were overseas and mothers working in a factory. They also contributed produce in food drives, and some may have worked in factories, especially in textiles

Adult females worked in the factories to take the place of their husbands who were at war. Women also worked at the army entertainment centers, where drinks were served and there were often dime a dance girls....buy a ticket and dance one dance with the lady of your choice. At home there were Board Games like checkers, monopoly,cards,the wegie boards and the Saturday night drive in theaters.
