Chinese immigrants to Canada.Chinese immigrating to Canada were treated very poorly. Canada at the time was very racist against Chinese and all asians . Even the government was racist. Chinese people were not allowed to vote or own property. Chinese wern't considered people and often had their homes or stores vandalised, broken and burned. They worked in high risk, low pay hardworking jobs like building the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). The governments stopped allowing Chinese immigrants in 1923 with the Chinese Immigration act. This ban was lifted May 14th 1947 after the first world war. This was due to Allies made with Asian countries and the effects the Nazi's death camps on Canadians.
