His travels across the Silk Road into Mongolia, China, India, and Nubia. There were actually three books and they were all about his first hand account of the people and their customs, ideas, traditions, history, and trade goods. He often remarked with enthusiasm, "Everything's different!" Normally, no one travels the whole of the Silk Road. He meant to discover the truth of these far, far away kingdoms.
